Piloting of materials on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education (EDC/HRE)

On June 23-24, 2014 in Kyzylorda in the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme on "Supporting Education Policies in Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education in Kazakhstan", the school №198 hosted a seminar "Piloting of materials on Education for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education (EDC/HRE)". From the side of Kazakhstan, one of the organizers of the event was the Independent Kazakh Agency for Quality Assurance in Education.

The joint European Union/Council of Europe programme on "Supporting Education Policies in Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education in Kazakhstan" was launched on September 20-21, 2013 in Astana.

The seminar was attended by more than 30 teachers and directors from various schools in Kyzylorda. The aim of the seminar was to conduct preparation of the school society in different aspects of EDC/HRE and to demonstrate the way of how concepts of the EDC/HRE can be realized in practice.

The seminar was conducted by the leading specialists and experts from the Council of Europe in the field of democratic citizenship and education in the field of human rights, authors of practical materials on the EDC/HRE, Rolf Gollob and Peter Krapf. The next and final stage of this project was the holding of the international conference, which took place on June 25-26 that year in Karaganda.
